Be Still my Beating Heart...

When i was younger, i used to be terrified of the dark. Then i outgrew that fear. Then i used to get homesick very often. I cried after spending 1 month in Australia cause i was homesick. I felt lousy during my entire BMT (my favourite song was '1 more day to BOOK OUT DAY!..")because i was homesick.

And tomorrow i'm going to embark on the longest trip overseas (solo or family) i have ever undertaken and now, the night before, thank goodness i seem to have lost that 'warm' fuzzy feeling of homesickness. That might change during the trip but i'm determined, barring disabilities, fatalities etc, to complete my trip (up till Nov 14th) before returning.

As expected, i'm much too excited to sleep the night before i fly off. So i got to updating both my blogs. I still havent decided whether to update this blog while i'm in Japan, so don't be suprised if this remains as my last post till sometime November.

Anyway, for those not in the know, PLEASE BOOKMARK:

http://japancyclingtrip.blogspot.com/
(MY CYCLING TRIP BLOG)
and
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gabrielchin/
(WHERE I'LL UPLOAD ALL MY PHOTOS)
(register as a FLICKR member (free) and add me 'shdw_mss[at]hotmail.com' to be added as a friend)

Again, if you're not in the know, i'm flying off to Japan to cycle tomorrow! For 3 months! From the South to North! Please visit my alt. blog and feel free to comment (i'll really appreciate if you do)! Tell your friends all about me if you can! I'll do my upmost best to try to update daily with photos or whenever possible when i'm in Japan.

In closing, i just want to add there's still one fear that i don't think i will ever conquer. And that's the fear of having a close relative pass away and me not being around to say goodbye. One of the biggest regret i will ever carry with me was not spending the last few moments of my grandfather's life beside his bed. (I was sleeping) A lot can change in 3 months. I just pray that God will bless and keep my family safe and healthy while i'm out enjoying my holiday.

Sayounara! Till next time we meet!

Leaving on a Jetplane (soon)

Think 'John Denver'

16 more days and i'll be flying off! Besides deciding on my first few destinations this afternoon, MOST importantly, i have secured my 'sponsor' for my trip!

I was hoping to get a fixed sum to work with for my 3 month trip, but my 'sponsor' is going to get me a supplmentary card so technically, i have no restriction on budget. But in order to curb errant spending (which i am so often guilty of), i'm going to stick myself to my original plan of $100SGD/day, and any extras put aside to possibly further my 90 days (pending a visa extension application come November).

So, first 2 stops for me upon arrival will be... Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Just can't pass up the chance to visit the 2 A-Bomb memorial sites (
Nagasaki Peace Park and Hiroshima Peace Memorial) especially since both are just to the west and east of Fukuoka where i will be arriving.

Up next: Gearing up my bicycle and getting a new handphone.

Wake Up and Smell the Roses

Cycling down the Orchard stretch at night was not as fun as i thought it would be. The main problem for a cyclist is the endless line of buses jostling with me on the left lane, forcing me to weave in and out between them the entire way, and the neverending traffic lights every few hundred metres. It seemed that i was unlucky enough to get stopped at every single traffic light from Raffles City to Wheelock Place.

Fortunately, the rest of my cycling on Sunday night was pretty enjoyable. Went down to Pasir Panjang to Shenton Way, to Kallang Stadium; stopped for Tau Hui at Selegie, cycled through Orchard Road (worst part) and down Holland Ave back to my place. I'm practicing the 'art' of riding leisurely so i didn't feel tired at all when i finished my round trip. Got to keep in mind not to gulp down too much water at once or it will leave my stomach feeling all bloated.

Cycled back to Sembawang Camp this afternoon to catch up with my ex-colleagues. The place is SO much more peaceful (and stress-free) compared to my home, so much so that i stayed the entire afternoon doing nothing but talk cock and exchange gossip, mostly with Ee Wei. Feels damn long since i ORD'ed, even though in reality it has just been 3 1/2 weeks since i've been gone.

Probably will drop by camp again next Thursday(12th) to take my IPPT with Ming Wei (failed 1st attempt). Everyone's been laughing at him cause he failed sit-ups and running, so i hope i don't end up the same. Think i have to work on my pull-ups. The only upper body exercise i've been doing the past month involve only my fingers...

Drama NEWS

- Finally some screenshots of
HanaKimi (official site here)! I was eagerly waiting to see how Horikita Maki would look like dressed as a guy, and my first impression from the pictures is... she's not very convincing. Still can't wait to catch this series though.

Spot the girl contest.
Spot the male-wannabe. (click for bigger pic)

- The drama taking over Liar Game's Saturday 11pm slot this season, LIFE, looks interesting as well:

LIFE

First episodes' ratings (11.0%) look decent for such a late slot. Will definitely give this series a shot. Theme song (also titled 'LIFE') is by Mika Nakashima as well.

- Aragaki Yui's (one of the Pocky girls) first leading role-drama aired on Sunday, Papa to Musume no Nanokakan.

A very unlady-like sitting position..

Not too crazy about her (but she was voted the no.1 most popular celebrity 18 yrs and under, as a reference, Erika toda was 3rd) and not too memorable in 2 of the dramas i've seen with her so far (Galcir and Dragon Zakura). This drama's slated to be only 7-episodes long. Gonna catch it to see what all the fuss about her is about.

Battle of Bukit Timah

The Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Race took place yesterday. Brandon was taking part but warned all of us (in our family) not to go see him race (weirdo..he also refuses to take off his shirt in the presence of anyone in the house, but everyone of his friends have seen him half-naked except for us..). Anyway i still went cause i wanted to go take some pics as well. Besides the entrance to the trail is just behind my house and down the road.

As expected, even though he told us not to go see him race, he invited his friends over to watch him. Race for his division (Boys 'A' 14-19yrs old) was 2 laps around the trail (2 x ~7km). He managed to finish a respectable 3rd for his first race, but at this rate (read below) he's going to mess up my plan to be the brother of 2 former Boys 'A' champions. (Kevin won 2 seasons of the Boys 'A' about 8 yrs ago).

Boys Division 'A' Race
Brandon (351), eventual 1st place (343) and 2nd place (the blue guy in the back)

The first 2 finishers (both malays, Brandon claims they are not locals) were in a league of their own. After winning the Boys race, they took part in the next race (Mens Open, a category for National riders and semi-pros) and finshed 3rd and 5th. And the Mens Open race was 5 laps! That means they rode approx. 49km altogether and 1 of them managed to get on to the podium against the pros as well.

Excuses time...
Crashed twice (ha! small cut on left knee) due to chain problems

Brandon's excuses for finishing 3rd was because he crashed twice due to some chain problems. And after the 2nd crash he lost sight of the first 2 guys and then didn't bother to chase anymore. Yeah, whatever. There's still quite a bit of races left in the season but unless he improves on his technique and especially the mental portion of racing he's not going to win.

FULL GALLERY OF MTB RACE PICTURES (must have a FLICKR account, ask me for an invite to view my photos)
-----------

I decided to scrap the Erika Toda photo gallery at the bottom of the site; instead i've move it to the sidebar. It'll randomly show 30 of her pics with every reload with a link to the bigger picture.

For the Love of Peace

I just wish my family would leave me alone and let me slack as much as i want over the weekend. If it's not my aunt nagging, it's my irritating dad/brother combo pestering me to go out to see furniture with them. As if my opinions on furniture choice mattered. Worst of all it's furniture for the living room. When i do give my comments my brother will stare at me as if i have the worst taste in the world and when i keep mom my dad will question what's the point of me coming. (Ans: Cause he forced me to come) And speaking of mom, my mom refuses to have anything to do with the moving, for reasons that escape common sense and logic. I guess i'll never understand the female mind.

Anyway today i die die didn't want to go out. So i started to play my X360 when my aunt came and started to nag and nag and nag and nag (etc.) about some issue that is so trivial that i can't even remember what it is now. If i need to justify why a bigger chunk of my hair turned white, i'll definitely cite this instance. So i did the only thing i could do, which is to just lock myself in my room and go to sleep. Somehow it seems that every moment i'm awake at home is an opportunity for someone to irritate me.

Actually i wanted to write a little about night cycling yesterday with Ee Wei, Wee Kim and Cheng Wei but i'm not really in the mood to do so now. Only 2 things really stand out last night and they are 1) Ee Wei crashing into the wall down Mt Faber and 2) Ee Wei getting multiple cramps on the way back. Ya that's about it. Full photo album is
here.

The not so fantastic 4Handsome devils
Not my idea of a romantic night up Mt Faber.

Lucky Dog

From May - Sarai no Kaze PV
Sheepish looking dog.

Yes i do so want to be that sheepish dog right now. Spent the evening adding on to my Erika Toda picture collection; i'm up to Erika Toda album 3 (100+ pics in an album) on my PSP now! WOW! How's that for a fulfilling evening?

Was planning to have an early night rest because i want to cycle to camp tomorrow but my dad was in a pesky mood and kept hanging around my room playing guitar the entire night till 1am. So much for 7 hour of rest...

Th3P-Law

Pain, Pleasure, Pointless. Any activity that i do in the SAF can be associated with at least one of these 3 Ps. Duty on a Saturday? Painful. Day off? A pleasure. Digging up my No.4, SBO and forced to go on a midnight route march? Painfully pointless. Usually i get some satisfaction out of completing a march, but asking me to go on one without carrying anything while everyone else has a MOP or field pack on just hurts my pride. To see Joseph and Jordan carry a field pack full of water bottles hurt me more than the post-march blisters on my heels.

Had a nice nap when i got home in the afternoon and watched finished H2. Maybe Ee Wei is right in saying i'm a sucker for 'friendship' drama because i really like this series. Especially when the (girl)friends look so hot. And i'll say it again: i really like the ending sequence and song by "Over" by
K. Gonna start on Kurosagi tonight, another Ichikawa Yui drama.

Ichikawa Yui (Hikari)
Ishihara Satomi (Haruka)
Care to guess who Hiro ends up with in the end?

I'm very happy to discover that there's at least one more game i'm looking forward to on PS2: Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes, which is my favourite hack n slash title on any console. The HnS is so good that i don't mind not understanding a single word of the story (it's only in Japanese). Capcom is probably the publisher that i trust the most when it comes to quality game releases. Big news to me is that Kojuurou (Toshiyuki Morikawa, VA for Sephiroth, Kazuya Mishima) and Oichi (Noto Mamiko, VA for Yakumo (SR), Enma Ai) will be playable! PS2 is not dead yet!

Oichi
This is how a special move should look like..Dynasty Warriors, eat your heart out!

3 games announced for PS3 looks really interesting to me, Brave Arms, Chain Limit and Second Season 01. Nice to see some original games and hope the reviews are good so i can justify getting a PS3. I will always be a Sony fan at heart but of course now my brain(and wallet) is on the X360 side.

Heard of Low Ji Wen? He's the Singapore National Cyclist who's going to France soon to begin professional training. (appeared in Strait Times a about a week ago). Well anyway after reading the article Brandon couldn't believe that anyone his age could be as strong as him in cycling (not exactly what he said but i just summarised what he actually intends to say) so somehow he got his email address and invited him to go for a ride with him this evening. I can tell from his expression when he came back that it was 'no kick' (summary). Me and my brother (and father) are pretty prideful when it comes to things we feel we are good at. And cycling is pretty much in my family's blood. (my elder brother happens to be a former national cyclist as well). I think Brandon intends to go overseas (France) to train as well. Well good luck to him.

My poor aching butt cheek..

Had a nice ride today with W.Kim Wee who just bought a new hybrid from AMK Hub's NTUC. Rode him back to his house which is suprisingly near to AMK Central (i keep thinking that 'Hougang' sounds damn far east) and then rode back home. Haven't ridden my racer since Fraser Hill but today i definitely feel much fitter than before the trip. Even after reaching home my legs don't feel shagged. Only problem is i kind of pulled the muscle in my right butt cheek, most likely due to lack of proper stretching before setting off.

I can't hit a sleeping girl!
Seriously, these 2 are going to fight each other. (L: Nayuki Minase (Early morning version, Kanon) and R: Kanna (Air))

Downloaded Eternal Fighter Zero, a doujin versus game with characters from various Visual Novel games(read: H-games). All i can say is: It's too bloody cute! Characters from Kanon and Air are also in the roster. The moves that some of the girls pull are seriously funny and weird (if you've watched the anime) and i just got a good laugh trying everyone out.

One more reason NOT to get a PS3 (yet): Devil May Cry 4, previously always a PS2 exclusive is going to be released on X360 simultaneously with the PS3 version. I can see other big name games slowly losing their Sony exclusivity and coming to X360 in the future as well. Hopefully MGS4 as well! Unless PS3 has some killer apps coming soon or the Cell starts showing its potential i think Sony should start planning for the Next-Next-Gen now. I still prefer the PS controller over the Xbox anytime though.

Anne Suzuki again..Chubby.

I think it's time to retire the DVD player in office. Was watching 'Hana and Alice' today and it kept freezing in between. Couldn't even finish 1 disc even though we were completely Law-less today. Not the first new VCD to be given the freeze treatment. Anyway i brought most of my movies home to watch, because someone was giving all our ears 5-star crapping therapy yesterday about how we all owe him something for something that only he remembers. I think he would make a terrific ghost in Ju-on because he harbours grudges for so long. Oh well, just 2 more months before i'm promoted back to Mr Chin (no more CFC hooray!)...Carry on my wayward son!

And that reminds me...i have to start prepartations for Ja-plan (Japan Plan)! Besides getting a bicycle i have done absolutely zilch after that. Time to lift my one good butt cheek off my bed and do something..

Fraser Hill Picture Tour

I am OFFICIALLY back online at home! Don't want to write much after my last lengthy post so i'll post the pics from my holiday at Fraser. Pictures are reduced in quality (a mix from my DSLR and Brandon's Digi-cam) so don't judge the cameras from this shots.

Stoned!
Stoned...setting out for our trip at 4am..
Breakfast
Breakfast at Melaka. The shop owners still remember us even though we haven't there in a long time.
Fraser in a nutshell
Fraser is made up of climbs like these.. The corners are especially steep.
My cool pose
Went for our first uphill session after resting an hour upon arrival.
Well deserved rest
Some bugger disturbing my sleep..Grr!
Leisure ride
2nd day morning ride with my mom on her folding bike. The uphills claimed her legs after 8km.
Last climb up to Fraser.. Very very steep
The killer last 9km up to the town. You can't see my expression but i'm really suffering here.
Blown-fish
This (generic) picture sums up my agony after every ride.
Vain pose?
Homeward bound. The hat looks snazzy.
That about sums my trip up. Some guy called me (again) from Australia today, obviously he doesn't care about international phone charges but it was quite worthwhile because Bernard somehow picked up an Aussie slang (in half a month) so it was pretty amusing. Good thing it wasn't more work but just a check-up on our status in office.

Finished watching 'Stand Up!!' with Herbert in office yesterday. Really hilarious show. Usually i'll be raving about cute actresses but this time the 4 guys really stole the show. Pics and thoughts on the 4 stars next post.

As Good As It Gets

Rode to camp today (new record of 36mins to camp!), took a bath and spent half an hour cleaning my bicycle. Opened up my PSP and dusted the insides as well. Went to the waiting area and watched 'Fearless' before going for lunch (Western thursday!) and then took a 45min nap before wiping my bicycle again. Movie for the afternoon slot was 'There's something about Mary'. I have never felt so ORDish till today. And of course the best part is the guilt of doing nothing at work is starting to fade away! I can hear SAF singing, "Na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na, Hey Hey, Good bye!" already.

(Tomorrow, Movies@DMS will be screening, "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny" and "Ju-On 2". Have to get more movies to entertain myself next week over the weekend.)

Futureal

Just returned from a leisure ride with Alex. Lent Alex my MTB with a gel pad overlaid on the most comfortable seat in my house, but he still complained of groin (and back) pain. Can't blame him. Used to get that when i started riding after a long lay-off. Travelled through Mandai Road down to Upper Thomson Road and had supper (2 kosong, 1 kopi cino for me) at the Roti Prata House before heading down through Macritchie Reservoir and back down to Upper Bukit Timah Road to my house. Distance (as estimated by Brandon) was about 40+km. Quite impressed that he managed to cover such distance on a first ride. But he still can't beat Sufian's legendary cycling journey from Marsiling to my house to Changi Village..on a BMX.

I felt the pace that we did tonight was the sort of speed i would probably aim for when bike-touring Japan. 1 day cycling to a youth hostel, 1 day sight-seeing and vice-versa (something like guard-duty rotation). Ya i decided to plan a cycling trip through the whole of Japan instead of backpacking. Why? Cause i think it will be more meaningful and fun to do something like this before i start my working life. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that i don't want to miss while i'm still young. Been looking through this
site to see some of the routes that i can take through the middle of Japan. Plan A would be to cycle through the middle, sent my bike back to Singapore and then backpack all the way back to my starting point down the coast this time. Plan B would be for me to chiong for my driving license, convert it to an international license, bring my bike over and rent a car and cycle around while driving from point to point. Easier said than done cause i haven't even taken my Basic Theory.

Anyway at this point i'm still very early in the planning stage. Will probably find some detailed maps, hostel information on the route, modify my MTB for touring and pick up my PSP GPS attachment (arrived 2 days ago!) and test it out etc. Have to really plan as i get closer to ORD if i want to make this trip possible. For the time being all i've bought is a bicycle rack attachment (centre and 2 side panels) to mount my luggage. Alex suggested that i blog on the way through Japan via my PSP (built-in Internet Browser) and take pictures via my PSP camera as i cycle through for a day by day update progress as i cycle. Oh yes, if anyone is interested (and available) to go through this tour with me please let me know. Plan to leave after July and be back before or during November (wintertime). Would love to see snow before i return.

Found this mini-series that Erika Toda also acts in titled "
Division 1 Stage 8". Only 4 episodes in the series but too bad that there's no subtitles available. Airing date was 2004 so Erika was only 16 in the show. Have to say that she looks better as she gets older but she is still uber cute nonetheless in the show (after i skimmed through all 4 eps). Also starring with her are Horikita Maki (Nobuta in "Nobuta wo Produce"), Nakamura Ruria (some extra in "Attack No. 1" and the ugliest of the four) and Tokunaga Eri (same talent agency as Erika, never seen any of her other shows before). Hope someone releases some subs soon (though i doubt it cause it's a 2004 series) cause i can't understand shit on what the show is about, or maybe i'm just too distracted by Erika in a high school uniform.

'Irritatingly' cute - EW
Pretty. And cute. Or just pretty cute.
~..pretty maids all in a row..~
(L to R):
Eri, Erika, Ruria and Maki.

PS: Ee Wei probably didn't realise this but Ichikawa Yui's birthday passed last Saturday. I noticed it last week but forgot to remind him about it. Saw "Siren" the movie in VideoEzy the other day. Will borrow it during the weekend to see how she acted in it. (Quote from Geek.com, "Its main star is the lead actress Ichikawa Yui, who is most noted for her roles in two of the "Ju-on: The Grudge" films.") Haven't seen either Ju-on so will try to find it as well.

Burn(ed)out

Was peeing outside in the office toilet yesterday afternoon when the new storeman came up to the urinal beside me and peed on my shoe (!). Anyway if after he peed on my shoe he said sorry immediately i would have just shrugged it off and assumed i was just suay. Plus i would have a pretty funny story to tell everyone. But new guy just remained silent as if nothing had happened (and it was not just a drop or two on my shoe...it was a whole 'splatter' of pee). Anyway i still had a funny story to tell after the incident. Except the 'funny' part of the story is not how unlucky i am but what a weirdo the new guy is.

So anyway i circulated my tale of woe to people around me including Nigel who was his upperstudy. But didn't expect him to go and tell Michael Lee about it. So Michael Lee gave the new guy a ticking off and told him to go apologise to me which was, i felt pretty unneccesary since i hate forced apologies. If someone is really apologetic and sincere he doesn't need to be told to go say he is sorry. Anyway Herbert told me to go look for Nigel and new guy after lunch but i didn't want to. So out of the blue Nigel brought him to DMS to apologise to me. Sorry i don't appreciate the gesture at all. And the first thing he said was he can't recall whether it was me he peed on or not. (.....) I'm pretty speechless at this point so i just walk off to another room. Then Nigel brings him in again and he says he is sorry. I'm more curious to actually know why he peed on me so i asked and he tells me, "oh i misfire sometimes..". Okieeee....THANKS for the warning! I'll make sure he doesn't come beside me the next time i am at the urinal. Otherwise if he approaches i probably have to pull rank and ask him to pee somewhere else or after i'm done. But i feel pretty bad that Nigel had to also apologise on behalf of his understudy. I mean he was not at fault at all. Just want to tell him that i'm more shocked than angry that a 19+ year old guy can pee on someone else's shoe and have no reaction after that.

Rode 55km today (20 to work, 15 after lunch and 20 back home). Bad idea after such a long lay-off with the flu. Luckily Alex woke me up or else i would have slept till the morning. He came to return me some PS2 games i lent him for a chalet while on his evening walk. Think he should get a bicycle.. Me and Alex haven't had a walk cum singing session around Bukit Panjang for quite a long time. Quite miss that. Singing out loud shamelessly while walking is fun and we haven't caught up in a while. Had (another) 'big' dinner today after my ride: 8 BBQ chicken wings, 1 plate of white rice and 1 can of Campbell soup all to myself. No wonder i conked off. Hope i at least burned more (calories) than i took in..

Wanted to post just one more pic of Miyazaki Aoi. I think she looks really great in this shot from her website. And for the record Me, Matt, Nigel and Zhaoliang have chosen her as the cuter actress. On the other side of the ring is Mingwei and of course Ee Wei. The score (so far) is 4 to 2 to Aoi in case someone wants to keep track.

Complete with (fake) autograph!
I don't think a Japanese actress would sign her name in English..

Monkey Wrench

Left office at 5:30pm and went cycling with my dad at Upper Pierce Resevoir. Cycling itself was uneventful, except that i suprised myself being able to push hard despite my bout of neverending flu. I had to spit out alot of phlegm while riding though. It seems anyway that the roads have been overrunned with monkeys waiting for some idiot(s) to feed them. It wouldn't be so bad if not for every damn monkey standing in the middle of the road and not budging till you are about 5 feet away from them. Then it's a matter of reacting to them dodging left/righto at the last minute and praying that i don't run one over. Actually i have no qualms about running over a monkey. Except that i would have to pay a fine. It's understandable if i ran over them while i was cycling in their forest but this is a freaking road! Shouldn't there be a grey area where i should be allowed to kill the bugger if he runs into my path all of a sudden? I can't rely on my spider-senses all the time to dodge every single last one of them on the road.

But what really irks me are the stupid idiots who feed the monkeys and cause them to gather on the roads waiting for more food. There was this stupid malay driver and family throwing bread to the monkeys as i was riding towards them. They stopped for a while and pretended to drive off when i approached but as soon as i passed they stopped and started throwing bread out again. Ok, maybe they didn't know that they shouldn't feed the monkey but wait! There's a bloody BIG POSTER (10 feet wide 4 feet tall) pitched right beside their car saying "DO NOT FEED THE MONKEYS!" (in 4 langauges). Anyway i quickly turned around and shouted "OEI!" and they quickly drove off again. For the record, the car license plate is SFV 2767 X. A blue Nissan Sunny. Next time i'm around there i will be sure to pay extra attention to spot this supremely inconsiderate idiot again. Maybe i should just find some coconuts and durian and throw them at his children's face when i see them. "I'M JUST FEEDING THEM WAT! There's no sign that says i can't feed your children".

Watched "Super Size Me" today. Ah Chew was trying to put across that i should cut down on fast food. Appreciate the thought. But why am i the only one being singled out? It's as if i am the only one in the branch who eats fast food. He should tell Ming Wei to cut down on food, period. Wee Kim needs to actually eat more fast food so he can gain some weight and so his body fat % will rise above mine (boasting rights). Herbert needs to drink more fluids cause he sweats (from his hands) so much. Ee Wei needs to stuff his mouth with food so that he will crap less (today i realised out that Straits Time actually censors the word c*ap) Anyway, I am actually actively but slowly trying to make my lifestyle more healthy:

1) I don't frequent fast food joints that often *no evidence to back this up, you have to take my word for it
2) When i remember i will take off the skin from my chicken
3) Cycling to work whenever i can
4) Less midnight raids to 7-11

That's all i can muster for the time being.. Vegetables are still a no-no. Oh ya, my mom touched my skin yesterday and said it felt like a 40 year old man (probably she used my father for comparison, but my father is 45...Hmm). So she gave me a bottle of "St Ives Intensive Healing Advanced Therapy Lotion" (it says on the bottle "FOR SEVERLY DRY SKIN" yikes!) to moisturise my skin. I have to admit that by comparison her skin is damn soft and smooth compared to mine, even though she's twice my age this year (44 x 22). Going to have to diligently apply this after baths and before sleeping.

Ain't she sweet?

My dad has been trying to get me to buy a new bicycle for the past 2 weeks. Today he brought me to see a Bianchi at Rodalink at Thomson Road. Wasn't planning to buy anything but i fell in love with the bike at first sight so i ended up buying it!

Love at first ride
Arguably the 2nd most gorgeous thing in my house behind myself.

Altogether it cost $1,700, components are entry-level but the frame paint is just gorgeous! A little bit heavy (10.2kg, ~22.5 pounds) but who cares when it looks so nice..Gonna ride it to work tomorrow (weather permitting) just to show off..i mean to test out the bike..

Update: Distance to camp is a little over 19km (right to my office doorstep) took me 43 mins to reach there in the morning and 48 mins back. Covered 38.57km in 1 h 31 mins. Hope to knock this time down as i progress.
